Mark 3:1–19 (LEB)
1And he entered into the synagogue again, and a man who had a withered hand was there.
2And they were watching him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, in order that they could accuse him.
3And he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Come into the middle.”
4And he said to them, “Is it permitted on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.
5And looking around at them with anger, grieved at the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
6And the Pharisees went out immediately with the Herodians and began to conspire against him with regard to how they could destroy him.
7And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd from Galilee followed him. And from Judea
8and from Jerusalem and from Idumea and the other side of the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon a great crowd came to him because they heard all that he was doing.
9And he told his disciples that a small boat should stand ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not press upon him.
10For he had healed many, so that all those who were suffering from diseases pressed about him in order that they could touch him.
11And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, were falling down before him and crying out, saying, “You are the Son of God!”
12And he warned them strictly that they should not make him known.
13And he went up on the mountain and summoned those whom he wanted, and they came to him.
14And he appointed twelve, so that they would be with him and so that he could send them out to preach
15and to have authority to expel demons.
16And he appointed the twelve. And to Simon he gave the name Peter,
17and James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (and he gave to them the name Boanerges, that is, “Sons of Thunder”),
18and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot,
19and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

Matthew 24:1–14 (LEB)
1And as Jesus went out of the temple courts he was going along, and his disciples came up to point out to him the buildings of the temple.
2But he answered and said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone will be left here on another stone that will not be thrown down!”
3And as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came up to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4And Jesus answered and said to them, “Watch out that no one deceives you!
5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will deceive many.
6And you are going to hear about wars and rumors of wars. See to it that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is not yet.
7For nation will rise up against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.
9“Then they will hand you over to persecution and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations because of my name.
10And then many will be led into sin and will betray one another and will hate one another,
11and many false prophets will appear and will deceive many,
12and because lawlessness will increase, the love of many will grow cold.
13But the one who endures to the end—this person will be saved.
14And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed in the whole inhabited earth for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Luke 13:10–21 (LEB)
10Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.
11And behold, a woman was there who had a spirit that had disabled her for eighteen years, and she was bent over and not able to straighten herself up completely.
12And when he saw her, Jesus summoned her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability!”
13And he placed his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and glorified God.
14But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, answered and said to the crowd, “There are six days on which it is necessary to work. Therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the day of the Sabbath!”
15But the Lord answered and said to him, “Hypocrites! Does not each one of you untie his ox or his donkey from the feeding trough on the Sabbath and lead it away to water it?
16And this woman, who is a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan bound eighteen long years—is it not necessary that she be released from this bond on the day of the Sabbath?”
17And when he said these things, all those who opposed him were humiliated, and the whole crowd was rejoicing at all the splendid things that were being done by him.
18Therefore he said, “What is the kingdom of God like, and to what shall I compare it?
19It is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his own garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the sky nested in its branches.”
20And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God?
21It is like yeast that a woman took and hid in three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leavened.”

John 12:1–19 (LEB)
1Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.
2So they made him a dinner there, and Martha was serving, but Lazarus was one of the ones reclining at table with him.
3Then Mary took a pound of ointment of very valuable genuine nard and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.
4But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (the one who was going to betray him) said,
5“Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
6(Now he said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, he used to steal what was put into it.)
7So Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my preparation for burial.
8For you have the poor with you always, but you do not always have me.”
9Now a large crowd of Jews found out that he was there, and they came, not only because of Jesus, but so that they could see Lazarus also, whom he raised from the dead.
10So the chief priests decided that they would kill Lazarus also,
11because on account of him many of the Jews were going and believing in Jesus.
12On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13took the branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, and began crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord, even the king of Israel!”
14So Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,
15“Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion! Behold, your king is coming, seated on the foal of a donkey!”
16(His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and they did these things to him.)
17So the crowd who was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead were continuing to testify.
18Because of this also the crowd went to meet him, for they had heard that he had performed this sign.
19So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are accomplishing nothing! Behold, the world has gone after him.”

Matthew 20:29–34 (LEB)
29And as they were going out of Jericho, a large crowd followed him.
30And behold, there were two blind men sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they called out, saying, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”
31And the crowd rebuked them so that they would be quiet. But they called out all the more, saying, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”
32And Jesus stopped, called them, and said, “What do you want me to do for you?”
33They said to him, “Lord, that our eyes be opened!”
34And having compassion, Jesus touched their eyes, and immediately they received their sight and followed him.

Luke 5:17–26 (LEB)
17And it happened that on one of the days as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was there in order for him to heal.
18And behold, men came carrying on a stretcher a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and place him before him.
19And when they did not find a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the roof tiles with the stretcher into the midst of them, in front of Jesus.
20And when he saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven you.”
21And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?”
22But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts?
23Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk?’
24But in order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the one who was paralyzed, “I say to you, ‘Get up and pick up your stretcher and go to your home.’ ”
25And immediately he stood up before them, picked up what he had been lying on, and went away to his home, glorifying God.
26And amazement seized them all, and they began to glorify God. And they were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen wonderful things today!”

Matthew 8:1–17 (LEB)
1And when he came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him.
2And behold, a leper approached and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you are able to make me clean.”
3And extending his hand he touched him, saying, “I am willing, be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
5Now when he entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him, appealing to him
6and saying, “Lord, my slave is lying paralyzed in my house, terribly tormented!”
7And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
8And the centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that you should come in under my roof. But only say the word and my slave will be healed.
9For I also am a man under authority who has soldiers under me, and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another one, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”
10Now when Jesus heard this, he was astonished, and said to those who were following him, “Truly I say to you, I have found such great faith with no one in Israel.
11But I say to you that many will come from east and west and be seated at the banquet with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!”
13And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go, as you have believed it will be done for you.” And the slave was healed at that hour.
14And when Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying down and suffering with a fever.
15And he touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to serve him.
16Now when it was evening, they brought to him many who were demon-possessed, and he expelled the spirits with a word. And he healed all those who were sick,
17in order that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah would be fulfilled, who said, “He himself took away our sicknesses, and carried away our diseases.”

Mark 8:31–38 (LEB)
31And he began to teach them that it was necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things and to be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise.
32And he was speaking openly about the subject, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
33But turning around and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan, because you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but the things of people!”
34And summoning the crowd together with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
35For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life on account of me and of the gospel will save it.
36For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
37For what can a person give in exchange for his life?
38For whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

Matthew 11:25–30 (LEB)
25At that time Jesus answered and said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to young children.
26Yes, Father, for to do so was your gracious will.
27All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wants to reveal him.
28Come to me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke on you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30For my yoke is easy to carry and my burden is light.”

John 3:1–21 (LEB)
1Now there was a man of the Pharisees whose name was Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2This man came to him at night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one is able to perform these signs that you are performing unless God were with him.”
3Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly I say to you, unless someone is born from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.”
4Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is an old man? He is not able to enter into his mother’s womb for the second time and be born, can he?”
5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly I say to you, unless someone is born of water and spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.
6What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7Do not be astonished that I said to you, ‘It is necessary for you to be born from above.’
8The wind blows wherever it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9Nicodemus answered and said to him, “How can these things be?”
10Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and you do not understand these things?
11Truly, truly I say to you, we speak what we know, and we testify about what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony!
12If I tell you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13And no one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven—the Son of Man.
14And just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, thus it is necessary that the Son of Man be lifted up,
15so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.”
16For in this way God loved the world, so that he gave his one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life.
17For God did not send his Son into the world in order that he should judge the world, but in order that the world should be saved through him.
18The one who believes in him is not judged, but the one who does not believe has already been judged, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
19And this is the judgment: that the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.
20For everyone who practices evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed.
21But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, in order that his deeds may be revealed, that they are done in God.
